Speed Through Efficiency
All of your athletic pursuits should flow and minimize resistance. Whether in the water, on the road or trail, with or without a bike... efficiency yields high rewards in a short amount of time. If your run is painful or you keep getting injured, chances are you're not following an ideal form for your body. If you're having low back pains on your rides, your fit could a bit off. Shoulder injuries and slower times in the water quickly show us that something is off with our swim stoke.

Power Bike Fit - Using Wattage to Determine Efficiency
Dialing in your fit will make riding your bike fun and pain free. A proper bike fit should yeild more watts which translate directly into more power and speed.  Using a Computrainer for all road and TT fits allows me to see how your position effects the wattage you're able to produce.
• Mountain, road and TT fits all available

About the session
• wattage-based fit for maximizing power
• all angles measured
• option to replace stems, bars, saddles, seatposts (purchased seperately)
• cost: $90

Running Form Assessment - Fine tune your stride
Running is one of the most natural things we do... it should feel comfortable and easy. During my running assessment, you will find out ways to improve your stride, foot strike, torso position, arm swing and running cadence.
• both treadmill and road are used for session

About the session
• learn how heel striking impairs your running ability
• find the ideal arm and hand placement
• perform drills that will help you stop wasting energy
• cost: $90

Swimming Form Analysis - Flow to be fast
If your stroke needs work, you're losing time in the water. Learn to glide and stroke less as well as how to lengthen and rotate to drop seconds from each 100 meters. I prefer an open water environment for triathletes since that's where you will be racing. Let's get you faster in the water today!
• Open water swims are kayak supported

About the session
• learn how to decrease your stroke count
• shave time off your swim and save energy doing so
• discover tips useful for improving your sighting in open water
• cost: $90 ($90 for the 1st hour, then $70 for each additional hour)

Tips to gain efficiency:
Running: don't bob - move forward, not up and down. You don't get points for how much vertical you cover.
Cycling: spin in circles, scrape through the bottom of the stroke and pull up hills. Cadence on flats should be around 90 rpm.
Swimming: practice open water sighting as much as possible, it's extremely different from following a lane line. Watch for things that take you off course, they are flaws in your form.
Mountain Bike: shorten your bars for a quicker response. Get more over your cranks to maximize power driven from your quads.
Trail Running: shorter strides up hills will save your quads so you can hammer the downhill.

Be Sure the Bike Fits
Too many times I see cyclists who recently purchased a new bike and it simply doesn't fit. All bike manufacturers have frame differences from top tube length to head tube height - those are important aspects of purchasing the right bike. Know which company makes a frame that will be ideal for your body. Schedule your bike fit today and gain power and comfort today!

Running and Knee Pain
I often hear "I ruined my knees from too much running".
Fortunately that's usually not the case. Knees get a lot of abuse but it's not from the pounding - it's from your quads. Imbalanced quads, muscle weakness as well as favoring one leg can all lead to knee pain and frustration. Have your running form assessed by a professional and at the same time be sure they are assessing your leg strength and flexibility. Those are important factors that directly effect your running.

Flow to be Fast
The water is a great medium for movement...as long as you're not fighting your way through it. Decreasing resistance and learning to pull with efficiency is key to increasing speed. The "V hull" and rotation are good places to start as they will both help you to glide decreasing the actual amount of work you have to do.

Testimonials
"Wow, what a difference! I feel so much better... my upper body is not feeling so strained. I can definitely feel more power."

- Lisa Alessi
Ironman Athlete

"After being fit by Joe on my new Orbea, the rides are much more comfortable with no seat, lower back, or neck discomfort. I feel as if I have more power to climb hills with recovery coming much quicker due to the fact the bike fits me and not the other way around."
